Starbucks opend its first shop in China at 1999. Since then they have expanded there area to 6000 shops. 15 % of their revenue comes from china.

China has huge market but thier culture was tea rather than coffee therefore when starbucks opened it shop at first, they prepared wide variety of tea. And it was successful then they expanded coffee. Thier shop is very large as Chinese like to gather with many perople (say, 10) and spend a few hours for talking. 

Starbucks is very expensive in China so to have cup of starbucks is almost like "status" with nice clothes.

China ecnomicy is stuggling now but Starbucks is doing well
